Abstract

This paper presents an inverse problem for determining the dynamic Young’s modulus for steel alloys and its variation with temperature. The theory is based on the Landau-Murnaghan constitutive law coupled with the longitudinal and flexural resonance methods. The results show that the Young’s modulus varies in a complex way with temperature, in agreement with experimental results.
